Did you know that autoimmune diseases are prevalent in 3 to 8% of people worldwide with the majority of those people being women? More specifically, women account for around 80% of all autoimmune diseases. A study published in October of 2023 explored whether intermittent fasting could mitigate symptoms of autoimmune diseases, and the results appear rather promising.

The study suggests that those who suffer from autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis may benefit as a result of reduced inflammation, which is a beneficial side effect of intermittent fasting.  By including healthy diets, such as the smoothie plan that I recommend, metabolic benefits will also emerge. Although these studies are not quite abundant as of yet, if you do suffer from an autoimmune disease it may not be a bad idea to give it a shot.

As someone who practices what he preaches, I can attest to the health benefits associated with fasting, one of which is significant weight loss when remaining disciplined.  You do not have to diet to lose weight as the weight loss industry would suggest, although I do recommend eating a healthy diet.  If you have not received a free copy of my short ebook, “Weight Loss Wars | Battling Industry Tactics for Genuine Wellness”, sign up for our newsletter “Slim Science in 30 Seconds” to receive your copy.
